Schneider Electric Launches European Mentoring Program for Women

The European Women Mentoring Program targets female graduates in digital, engineering, and sustainability fields, as well as young professionals in these sectors. This six-month journey, starting in September, aims to foster the personal and professional growth of young female talent. Applications are open on the Schneider website.

Applications are now open for Schneider Electric’s European Women Mentoring Program, which offers a significant opportunity for personal and career development to female graduates and young professionals in the digital, engineering, and sustainability sectors.

Starting in September 2024, the program lasts six months. Each participant will be paired with a mentor, guiding them through a growth and empowerment journey that includes individual mentoring sessions, training, participation in events organized by Schneider Electric, networking opportunities, career orientation tools, self-confidence building, personal brand development, and more.

The Women Mentoring Program is part of Schneider Electric’s commitment to new generations and the Group’s gender equality goals. Schneider aims to ensure that by 2025, 50% of new hires, 40% of first-line management, and 30% of senior leadership positions are filled by women. This goal is coupled with the commitment to reduce the gender pay gap to less than 1% across all the over 100 countries where the company operates, also by 2025.

“Mentoring is valuable at any career stage, but it is especially crucial when entering the workforce or within the first few years. It provides an opportunity to refine aspirations through the relationship with a woman who offers a model and shares her experience, immersing participants in all that a company like ours can offer. It’s a journey of mutual discovery that allows us to bring out and enhance the talents and individual characteristics of these young women, guiding them toward roles where they can excel,” comments Chantal Scaccabarozzi, VP Human Resources of Schneider Electric Italy.

By focusing the program on STEM careers and sustainability, Schneider Electric aims to reduce the gender gap in the scientific and technological areas and facilitate access to emerging professions in sustainability, which are in high demand. Additionally, the Women Mentoring Program offers an opportunity for the mentors themselves, who receive specific training and benefit from the exchange, also in an intergenerational perspective.

Schneider Electric is globally recognized for its ability to offer equal and inclusive conditions and promote equal opportunities in society. Among the recognitions, the company has been included in the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index for eight consecutive years and the Equileap Top 100 Globally for Gender Equality.
